Description

Dobermans first. The Marine Corps called them Devil Dogs and sent them into Guam ahead of the men, into ground no Marine could see into. Twenty-five of them never came off the island.  German Shepherds took the work next. Other breeds including the Malinois carry it now. The breed that wears the collar may change; nothing else about the job does. Vigilant. Brave. Loyal. Not a slogan. A performance standard, and they met it.
